Thailand’s MILLI conquers another cross-cultural remix with South Korean singer BIBI’s “The Weekend” in collaboration with 88rising. The young rap phenomenon added her signature flair to the sensual track, complementing BIBI’s sultry vocals on the remix which premiered last December 21.

(Seriously, the original song is really cool, so what should we do? So try to understand as you like by interpreting the hook. So it came out as the story of a young girl who fell in love with a person so much that she suffered and didn’t want him to meet anyone else) MILLI wrote in an Instagram post where she thanked 88rising and BIBI for the opportunity.

MILLI, who’s known for both her thoughtful lyrics and sharp wit, delivered on the song’s premise: “Please I don’t wanna be your part time / Love me now และนี่คือคำสั่ง (Love me now this is the order) /ยอมเธอไปแล้วหมดทุกสิ่งหมดทุกอย่าง

ตามที่เธอต้องการ (I surrendered to you, everything, everything as you want.)” The remix premiered with a music video on 88rising’s YouTube channel, produced by YUPP! Entertainment. In the visual, she’s seen performing in an abandoned building in varied frames depicting her waiting in a frenzy waiting for her lover’s phone call.

In 2021 MILLI also collaborated with fellow Thai rapper F.HERO and Changbin of South Korean K-pop group Stray Kids for “Mirror Mirror.” BIBI’s “The Weekend” first premiered last December and has been remixed by Canadian artist 347aidan as well. Both MILLI and BIBI made it to HipHopDX Asia’s 20 Best Music Videos of 2021 and 20 Best Albums of 2021, respectively.
