Believe it or not, at one time Donald Trump was actually a positive symbol of wealth, ambition and power, and several Hip Hop artists weren’t shy about sharing their veneration for the affluent real estate mogul. In 2011, Mac Miller dropped a video for “Donald Trump,” which essentially glorified Trump as a potential role model, while Rae Sremmurd penned 2015’s “Up Like Trump,” and alluded to their apparent admiration for the current Republican nominee.
Since Trump began his bid to be the next President of the United States, however, times have changed. Trump’s inflammatory comments about women, minorities, immigrants — basically most segments of the population — have resulted in a palatable shift in the public’s perception of him.
Most of the Hip Hop community has turned on him as well and has naturally taken to music to express their feelings on the subject. Below are eight tracks that obliterate Trump’s character and shine a spotlight on exactly just how much he is hated in the Hip Hop community, including Common’s “Letter To The Free” and YG and Nipsey Hussle’s “FDT (Fuck Donald Trump).”
Common — “Letter To The Free”
Although they’re subtle, Common’s most recent single from his forthcoming Black America Again album, “Letter To The Free,” takes a couple of quick jabs at Trump. The always politically outspoken MC says, “Slavery’s still alive, check Amendment 13/ Not whips and chains, all subliminal/ Instead of ‘nigga’ they use the word ‘criminal’/ Sweet land of liberty, incarcerated country/ Shot me with your ray-gun/ And now you want to trump me.”

As he continues his commentary on the corrupt prison system, he adds, “We staring in the face of hate again/ The same hate they say will make America great again/ No consolation prize for the dehumanized,” a clear mention of Trump’s infamous campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
will.i.am — “Grab’M By The Pussy” Spoof
Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am uses humor to get his message across in the “Grab’M By The Pussy” spoof. Donning a horrible blonde wig, the long-time MC is at a mock debate, where he proudly proclaims, “I’m a star because I made it/ I’m rich and I’m famous/ Donald Trump says ‘Grab’m by the pussy.'”

As he fields questions from a moderator (played by fellow Pea apl.de.ap), he continues to assert just how “famous” he is, completely avoiding the questions, which is typically how the real Trump handles things anyway. “Trump that, bitch.”
Anthony Hamilton & The Hamiltones — “Donald Trump Will Grab You By The Pussy”
Beginning with the words, “Vote for Hillary Clinton” and the 2005 audio clip of Trump’s off-color comments about women’s genitalia, Anthony Hamilton and The Hamiltones take a harmonized approach to Trump’s lewd, now-immortalized phrase. Although it’s over in 53 seconds, it packs a punch and makes it clear who they’ll be voting for in the upcoming election.

Emilio Rojas — “I Hate Donald Trump”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYjErsngcAY
Emilio Rojas makes his feelings about Trump clear with a video depicting the presidential candidate as a 40-ounce wielding, groundskeeper-harassing, female-objectifying masked maniac.
Lyrically, Rojas goes straight for the throat, referencing accusations that Trump’s father was a KKK member. “I guess that the apple does not fall far from the tree that they hang the minorities on,” he raps.

Billy Dha Kidd — “Fuck Donald Trump”
Hailing from Lincoln, Nebraska, Billy Dha Kidd is in the heart of the Bible Belt, where conservative thinking rules the majority. However, Billy Dha Kidd comes out with guns blazing in the video for “Fuck Donald Trump,” proving living in the Bible Belt isn’t getting to him. As several people take a baseball bat to a Trump piñata, the aspiring artist raps, “Fuck your whole campaign…[Trump] ain’t nothing but a racist.”
Chali 2na & The Funk Hunters — “Get Involved”
Jurassic 5 MC Chali 2na takes a trip to his hometown of Chicago in the video for “Get Involved.” The song is a collaboration with Canadian electronic duo The Funk Hunters and comes from their most recent EP, ILLectric.

While its lyrics definitely lean toward a call-to-action, Chali 2na takes it to a different level when he’s filmed flipping off Trump’s International Hotel and Tower in downtown Chicago as the words “corporate crooks” roll off his tongue. We all know who isn’t getting Chali’s vote.
YG & Nipsey Hussle — “FDT (Fuck Donald Trump)”
Another blatant diss track, YG and Nipsey Hussle’s “FDT (Fuck Donald Trump),” pulls out all the ammunition. Before the music even begins, a message flashes across the screen that reads, “As young people with an interest in the future of America, we have to exercise our intelligence and choose who leads us into it wisely. 2016 will be a turning point in this country’s history, the question is, in which direction will we go?”

The video shoot was supposedly shut down during a Trump rally because they were filming an anti-Trump song, but that didn’t stop them. YG starts, “I like white folk, but I don’t like you,” before the hook begins, “Fuck Donald Trump.” Doesn’t get any more straightforward than that.
YG F. Macklemore & G-Eazy — “FDT Part 2 (Remix)”
https://soundcloud.com/4hunnidrecords/fdt-part-2-feat-g-eazy-macklemore
Macklemore and G-Eazy give YG’s “FDT” the remix treatment in “FDT Part 2.” Macklemore uses his verse to aggressively and unapologetically attack Trump for his apparent hatred of Muslims and stance on gun control, spitting, “Your politics are like a Starburst pack/ Why?/ Nobody fucks with the orange one,” before calling him an “automatic punk.”

G-Eazy comes in and wastes no time comparing Trump to Hitler and the KKK, rapping, “This man’s not peaceful/ Racism is evil/ This man hates Muslims/ That’s a billion fuckin’ people/ If truth be told, Donald is a terrorist.” Game, set, match.
